We get questions all the time about our devices and how long they last. It can be a little tricky to contextualize the duration of a vape device or a disposable because the battery life will always correlate to how vigorously they are vaped. For example, we have roughly outlined that our popular ELFBAR 600 device typically lasts up to 600 puffs, which will deliver a great throat hit and will typically last more than a full day of vaping. Please not though; this is an estimate we use but those who use their disposables more vigorously will often find it doesn't last as long as they would have liked it to. It's a general average that a single puff will usually last around two seconds.
So how long do our devices last?
We try to set out the guidelines for how long each device will last based on average puffs. Because of TPD regulations, our disposables cannot exceed 2mg. As a result, our disposable range was created with an internal battery that will always correlate to the amount of e-liquid that's present in the device; that way, nothing is wasted and there's never any charge left in the battery when the liquid chamber is empty. However, this can sometimes be an uneven process because of external factors that affect the device. For example, if the device is exposed to excessive heat or extreme cold, the battery may drain faster than usual. You should also never leave your device in direct sunlight; this could damage the case of the device or raise the internal temperature of the device to a point where it becomes faulty. Also, if the mouthpiece of the device is somewhat dirty or blocked by debris, it may stop the liquid from burning efficiently enough to get a full draw This can also shorten the lifespan of the device. Finally, if the device gets somewhat wet, this could shorten its lifespan as the battery will struggle to circumvent the moisture present in the device matrix.

How to take care of your batteries
There are a few things you can do to make your battery last longer. A lot of these are common sense solutions but it's a great idea to lay them all out so you always get the best chance of ensuring the longevity of your device and you don't spend money you don't have to.
Let's break it down…
- Turn the device off when you're not using it. This will prevent the device from accidentally firing in your pocket or bag.
- If you're using a device with a detachable battery, don't mix your battery brands as these may have different discharge power.
- If possible, use chargers that match the device brand as these will provide the power the device needs to be charged safely.
- Never charge your battery overnight. Doing so could cause your device could malfunction, and will slowly lower the maximum capacity of the cell. Mobile phone brands recommend this too, so make sure all your electronic devices are never left charging overnight – especially if it's a nimh battery (a Nickel–metal hydride battery).
- Store batteries in a case and keep them in a cool, dry place.
- Always buy batteries from a reputable source and never cut corners.
- Regularly clean batteries with a cotton bud to remove any dust or fluff. This will ensure the terminals are never blocked.
- Replace batteries every one to two years. This will ensure you're not constantly recharging; all batteries inherently lose their maximum capacity over time.
